Objective, dynamic, and accurate data – this is the foundation of the Retül concept.

Every cyclist has unique biomechanics, therefore there are no generalizations that apply when truly fitting a rider to a bike. A proper bike fit not only will provide you with the most economic means of expending energy, but will also prevent pain that is common in the knee, hip, and lower back, particularly with riders who are trying to adapt their bodies to the bike they already have purchased.

We would rather adapt a bike to the body you already have. There is a big difference between being sized for a bike and being fit for a bike. When it comes to the biomechanics of fitting a rider to his or her bike, little ‘tweaks’ can be very significant.

What to Expect during a SportVelo Fitting

The unique dynamic fitting process includes a functional and technique evaluation:

• Functional assessment (muscle imbalances, flexibility, and so on)
• Review of your experience and equipment history
• Technique assessment (pedaling form, stability, control, and so on)
• Bicycle measurements
• Adjustments
• Equipment suggestions and upgrades

However, the ideal bicycle position isn’t the whole answer. If you aren’t supporting yourself properly or pedaling correctly on the bike, you may have the best position in the world, but you still may not be able to ride to your potential. The SportVelo fitting process analyzes many factors that affect how you ride your bike: flexibility, muscle activation, muscle imbalances, and pedaling form. This process gives you the tools needed so that you can improve your cycling, not just by putting you in the traditionally “best” position on the bike.

Remember to bring the following:
• Your bike
• Your bike clothes
• Additional bike, if you are requesting a second evaluation
• Cycling shoes
• If your fit is on your TT/tri bike fit, bring your aero helmet if you use one.
