This is my full-time occupation. My approach is specific, and individualized to each athlete I coach. I’m not about mass-produced, cookie-cutter training programs.
The number of athletes I coach at any one time is limited, and I am currently accepting new athletes on a case-by-case basis. Now is a good time to create and establish a good coach/athlete relationship, developing goals, objectives, and the training structure to make your next season and beyond a success!
At present I am accepting applications at all coaching program levels. I typically work with competitive, motivated, and highly disciplined individuals, who have at minimum 8-10 hours, and typically much more, per week to devote to training and competition. Many (but not all) of these athletes have had extensive athletic backgrounds and compete at the local, regional, and national level. I rarely work with beginning level athletes, but there’s the occasional exception. If you feel you fit this description, I’d be happy to consider you. I strongly believe that for the coach/athlete partnership to be successful, there must be a good fit for both.
For communication and structure I utilize a web-based coaching software program to deliver your training schedule, develop an annual plan, and keep track of your progress every day using the program’s powerful daily log features. The program allows you to record the details of your workouts manually or upload your data from power meters, heart rate monitors, and GPS training devices. My athletes are required to keep their training logs complete and up to date. By keeping detailed logs of key values such as hours slept, stress, and fatigue levels, hours trained, and at what intensity, I am able to provide an individualized, focused, and fluid coaching program to SportVelo athletes.

SportVelo Elite Coaching Program
Hands on, high communication, flexible training plan. Ideal for multi-sport and elite athletes. Includes comprehensive power meter analysis.
Time period: Minimum 9-month contract.
Introduction and Set-up: 2hr coaching introduction meeting, threshold field test(s) with analysis establishing baseline training zones ($200)
Benefits: The athlete’s training is closely monitored. The coach provides the athlete training programs in weekly or monthly blocks, by a web-based coaching program. Past training and racing experience, current field test results, plus establishment of goals and objectives determine the seasonal training plan. The athlete is REQUIRED to complete daily training logs, at minimum, on a weekly basis. Communication with the coach is unlimited. The athlete on this program is able to contact the coach for evaluation, updates, feedback, and revisions to the training program as needed (communication initiated by the athlete).
Communication with coach: Unlimited, initiated by the athlete; phone, and/or e-mail.
$550 for the first month (Set-up and 1st month)
$350/month thereafter or $3000 if paid in full (9 months) a 10% discount.

SportVelo Coaching Program

Time period: Minimum 9-month contract.
Introduction and Set-up: Includes application, 2hr coaching introduction meeting, and threshold field test with analysis establishing baseline training zones ($200)
Benefits: The athlete individualized training program is provided in monthly blocks, by a web-based coaching program. Past training and racing experience, current field test results, plus establishment of goals and objectives determine the seasonal training plan. The athlete is REQUIRED to complete daily training logs, and download workout files in a timely manner. Communication with the coach by phone is once a week, initiated by the athlete, for evaluation, assessment, updates, and feedback about the training program. If needed, two revisions or updates to the current monthly training plan are provided at this program level. Threshold field tests are encouraged before and after training phases (~ every 6-12 weeks) to monitor and reevaluate the athlete’s training progress.
Communication with coach: Weekly phone discussion, initiated by the athlete. E-mails generally replied to within 24 hours.
$450 for the first month (Set-up and 1st month)
$250/month thereafter or $2225 if paid in full (9 months) a 10% discount.

12 Week Individualized Training Plan $500
Completed detailed questionnaire required before meeting, includes a 90min coaching one on one meeting to establish objectives, goals, discuss specific training process, plus Q. and A. for creating an individualized 3 month training plan. Includes detailed descriptions of training intensities, and detailed daily workouts.
SportVelo Dynamic Bike fitting w/ Retul $300*
Real-time 3-D infra red motion analysis; ride technique, skills assessment, evaluation and adjustment (2hr + process).
Threshold Test $150
Cycling Threshold power test with use of PowerTap System, and analysis to establish training zones and baseline fitness.
Sports skills session $125*
A 1hr assessment and hands-on technical evaluation with coach
Motor Pacing (for qualified riders) $60 hourly
